About Town: Arts Goggle

Once again Etsy Fort Worth hits the streets  for Arts Goggle in the Near Southside on Park Place. EFW will be set up along the street in front of Esperanza's and Chadra Mezza Grill. You'll find a mixed array of goods from members.  If you've managed to miss out on Arts Goggle before, you don't want to miss it this time. You can park and catch Molly the Trolley or even rent a bike from the new Bike Share program and peddle your way to lots of shopping, eating, and drinking and catch some great local music.

ArtsGoggle, the twice-yearly celebration of art, artists and music in Fort Worth, Texas’ Near Southside, is expecting another tremendous turnout on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 4 to 10 pm.

Since its inception in 2003, ArtsGoggle has evolved into a popular festival of the arts in this eclectic neighborhood of historic elegance and urbanism immediately south of the central business district of Fort Worth. This free to the public, family-friendly event attracts a crowd as diverse as the neighborhood itself with live music, artistic displays of every kind, food, drink, and fun for everyone. Public support has increased rapidly, as evidenced by ArtsGoggle’s selection as the Best Gallery Art Show of the Last 12 Months by Fort Worth Weekly readers in 2007 and 2008.

This year 69 businesses in the Near Southside will become art venues and open their doors to show off the work of a variety of local artists.

Be sure and check out the new spot for Creative Collective at 501 S. Calhoun where they are blossoming into a much larger space and you can even rent work space. A handful of Etsy Fort Worth members call this brick and mortar location home. Official re-open is planned for August but you can get a sneak peek at the progress on Saturday.

Here's a downloadable program so you can find your way around.
