how to tuesday:: play dough cookies.

These giant cookie pops were made for a very special event...

A play dough party!! I cooked up a batch of the smoothest play dough you will ever find and invited some of the cutest munchkins around. But after a while they wanted a snack.

WAIT! Don't eat that one!

Try these! They were a hit! They really did look like play dough.

If you decide to make them, remember the most important part. They must be as big as your child's head!

I used this sugar cookie recipe and it made 18 giant cookie pops.
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and tint each with food coloring. I used the neon food coloring. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for an hour. Shape dough into 3/4" balls. For each cookie, take one of each color to make one large ball. Roll into a 12" snake and gently coil around forming the round cookie. Place on cookie sheet and place the lollipop stick gently into the cookie. Bake as directed. Let them cool completely before handling.
**In case you are interested** I used the cooked play dough recipe from this site. It was smooth, pliable and keeps well. I also added lemon extract to the dough for a nice aroma.
