Within the Emperor's Garden: The Ten Thousand Springs Pavilion

This beautiful work of art is on loan from the Smithsonian Institution, features a stunning one to five model of the Ten Thousand Springs Pavilion, the classic pavilion found within the Imperial Garden in the Forbidden City in Beijing. Hand-carved from red sandalwood and measuring nine feet tall, the model is an outstanding example of traditional Chinese carving. The exhibition also features photographs and text panels, in English and Chinese, about the Imperial Garden.
