Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Opening Weekend!

Are you wondering what there is to do in Fort Worth this weekend?

Well, you're in luck... This weekend is the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Opening weekend!

"Kick up your heels and enjoy acres of excitement and western heritage. Including pulse-pounding rodeo action. Free musical entertainment. Family-friendly exhibits and shopping. The huge Stock Show Midway. Premier livestock shows. And that’s just the beginning. Don’t you dare miss it!" -- www.fwssr.com editors.

What does that really mean? Critters, cowboys, cowgirls, rides, and more shows than you can shake a lasso at! Just a few of the highlights scheduled for this weekend: A Pigeon Show, Goat judging contest, a Longhorn sale, Paint and Quarter Horses and dairy goat shows.
Don't forget to look for the Moo Brothers - The stock show mascotts who will be out wandering around!

For more information, you can go to www.fwssr.com!

Looking for something free? Why not go check out the Kimbell Art Museum's exhibit featuring Michelangelo's First Painting: The Torment of Saint Anthony! If you decide to go to the Kimbell, I highly reccomend you take a tour with one of the guides. We did it a few months ago, and it is amazing all the things you never would have guessed about the paintings! They pointed out the stories behind how the obtained the paintings, how the paintings were changed because the artist didn't like something, and about the way they frame the artwork! More information about the Kimbell can be obtained at www.kimbellart.org.

Do you have an idea of something fun going on in Fort worth? Some event, cool new shop, festival, show, or art exhibit you want to share with the world? Send me an email at artofillusionsjewelry@gmail.com with the information and I'll work it into our What to do in Fort Worth this weekend blog!
